Kelly Kontou is an MSc Psychologist, graduate of the University of Athens, with a Masters Degree in Mental Health from the University of London (MSc in Mental Health Studies, King"s College London), and psychotherapeutic education in Group Therapy and Occupational Therapy Society of Analytical Group and Family Psychotherapy.

She is currently pursuing her education in group psychotherapy at the Yalom Institute under the supervision of Dr Ruthellen Josselson. She also continues her education in Psychoanalytic Child and Adult Psychotherapy at DIKEPSY and is supervised by the Institute of Mental Health of Children and Adults.

She is a member of the Association of Greek Psychologists, of the Hellenic Society of Analytical Group and Family Therapy, the International Association of Relative Psychoanalysis (IARPP) and the American Association of Group Psychotherapy (AGPA). She is a trained member of the European Psychotherapy Association (EAP) and the British Association of Counseling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In addition, she has been trained in the "Positive Parents, Happy Children" Parenting Program. This program has been developed at the Pediatric Psychiatric Clinic of the Medical School, in the "Pedon" Hospital, Agia Sofia and is intended for parents with children 3-8 years.

The goal of the program is to identify the emotional and social needs of each child, to promote a happy and creative parent-child relationship, and to provide the parent with a system of rules, instructions, and discipline that will help him or her deal with difficult behaviors.

This program consists of four parts:

She has over 10 years experience as a Psychologist, Group Therapist and as a teacher, having worked as a Day Hospital of the University Mental Health Research Institute, KEK of the Hellenic Center for Mental Health and Mental Health. Currently she is an external partner of Alpha Bank and the Institute of Relational and Group Psychotherapy.
