Short Description
Nefeli Markou is a graduate of Psychology, School of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has been working since 2007 until today as a psychologist at the Hellenic Society of Alzheimer's Disease (Alzheimer's-Hellas), at the Day Center "Ag. Heleni". She specializes in the design and implementation of mental rehabilitation programs in the elderly population and in patients with dementia, as well as in neuropsychological assessment. She also participates with educational and informative speeches in care programs for patients with dementia and in workshops for the general public. She has participated as an instructor, in educational seminars for the specialization of health professionals in dementia, as well as as a speaker in Panhellenic and World conferences.
She has participated in research papers in scientific journals, as well as in books related to old age and dementia. She has attended numerous seminars and conferences in the field of mental health, as part of her continuing education and has participated as a speaker in workshops. mental health seminars and conferences. She has been trained in a four-year training program in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, at the Hellenic Behavioral Research Society (Member of EABCT) - Macedonia Branch. In her private office she provides individual, marital and group psychotherapy and counseling.
