Short Description
Elvi Kanellopoulou studied Psychology and Economics at Clark University in Massachusetts, USA. She continued her postgraduate studies in Counseling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the American College of Greece. She has done her practice at the Nutritional Disorders Department at the St. Ann"s London Psychiatric Hospital.
Since 2008 she has been the head of the Psychiatric Family Center for Psychiatric Patients.
She has been trained in family behavioral therapy in psychosis, and has a particular scientific and research interest in psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery of mental illnesses. She has been certified in the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) and has continued her training in group psychotherapy at the Epsoso (Hellenic Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Group).
She is a member of the American Psychological Association.
At the same time, she is the one who inspired and implemented the creation of the Center of providing integrated mental health services "Vima Koino", as her intense involvement with mental health issues prompted her to invest in a Center that is able to provide in-house services.
